OneSight is Luxottica’s global eye health charity, which strives to eradicate the global vision care crisis in our lifetime. Through their OneVision program, OneSight provides access to quality eye care and eyewear in underserved Indigenous communities in Australia, currently in the Queensland Gulf communities of Mount Isa, Doomadgee and Mornington Island.
To support the development of the OneVision program and delivery of eye health services into Indigenous communities, Cox Inall Ridgeway facilitated community engagement efforts between OneSight, local allied health professionals, and the local Indigenous communities.
The centerpiece of these efforts was the facilitation of a Vision Think Tank, resulting in the development of a set of guiding principles defining the partnership between OneSight and the local Aboriginal community controlled health organisation.
OneSight’s commitment to developing a long term, sustainable Indigenous eye health program, coupled with specialised advice and expertise from Cox Inall Ridgeway, has allowed OneSight to position itself as a leader in Indigenous community engagement as OneVision grows into the future. OneSight now continues strong, ongoing relationships with Aboriginal communities in the western Gulf of Carpentaria.
