Tim has 25 years’ experience working in journalism, politics, public affairs and marketing, and remains a hands-on consultant working on specific projects in both Cox Inall and Cox Inall Ridgeway.
In 2007 Tim and Aden Ridgeway established Cox Inall Ridgeway with Tim taking on the Managing Director role.
Tim is responsible for business strategy for both businesses and supporting team leaders on major projects.
As an experienced and qualified facilitator, Tim often works on strategy and planning tasks for clients.
Tim and the Cox Inall team have developed a unique approach to helping train people, irrespective of communication style or role in an organisation, to have productive interactions with media. Tim is our lead media trainer.
Tim is an experienced crisis manager and sits on the Crisis Team of Kimberly Clark in Australia as well as providing crisis management advice and training to a number of manufacturing and life sciences companies.
He has an extensive network of contacts in Australian politics, the media, environmental NGOs, Indigenous organisations, industry associations and the corporations that service Australian agribusiness.
Prior to Cox Inall, Tim worked for the Rural Press Group (Fairfax) for seven years as a journalist and as a media advisor to the Hon John Fahey during his time as Premier of New South Wales.
Tim holds a Bachelor of Arts (Rural Journalism) from the Curtin University of Technology, Perth and a Master of Public Affairs from the University of Sydney.
He is also a member of the Public Relations Institute of Australia and a former president of the PRIA NSW Registered Consultancies Group and current president of the Farm Writers’ Association of NSW.
