Indigenous Cultural Awareness engagement guide

The Heart Foundation contracted Cox Inall Ridgeway to develop an online Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness training program specifically for the Foundation. The training program provides staff with guidance for working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples when undertaking core business and related activities.

The Heart Foundation is committed to reducing inequality and is working towards ensuring all Australians have equitable and improved access to prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease. Their Indigenous health programs develop evidence and community-based solutions to help close the gap.

Through this project, the Heart Foundation, and particularly their researchers, have been able to further strengthen and develop their relationships with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with which they work.

At a strategic level, the project has built on, and enabled, the Institute to work more efficiently and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across the organisation.
